MEET THE FOUNDERS
Jessica Johnson-Cope is a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment and small businesses. As the leader of Johnson Security Bureau, she continues to drive forward her family’s legacy of safeguarding valuable assets with dedication and integrity. She is also the co-founder of The Soap Box, a premium laundry, dry cleaning, and sneaker cleaning business in Brooklyn, NY, which she oversees with her business and life partner, Waleed Cope. Their business operates on a client-centered and community-based approach driven by excellent service, relationships, and innovation.
Waleed Cope is a second-generation garment care professional, and the CEO of The Soap Box. With the goal of sharing knowledge and empowering others, he has also founded Wash Weekly, an independent e-journal focused on providing owners, operators, investors, and aspiring entrepreneurs in the garment care industry with a radically new perspective on building their businesses and fostering a mindset of innovative thinking. He also hosts the industry-leading podcast, “Laundry CEO: Leadership Conversations”.
Together, Jessica and Waleed have elevated The Soap Box into a beacon of excellence in the garment care industry, earning it recognition from US Cleaning Service as one of NYC’s premier laundry services.
